President Joe Biden’s handlers want to see America fall from its position as the world’s preeminent power, for some reason — whether it’s because they hate our country or Western civilization in general or because they are part of a small group of global elite who see America as the sole impediment to a one-world government they would help control.
But whatever the reasons, the policies this regime is putting in place are extremely destructive and designed to do just that — ruin our economic models, impoverish our people, and yes, punish political ‘enemies’ in the process. And nowhere is this more prevalent than with the regime’s war on fossil fuels.
It’s a fact that modern societies cannot exist without oil and gas. Maybe someday in the distant future, but not now. And yet, Biden is moving apace to kill our fossil fuel industry, beginning in Texas, where the effects of his policies are already being felt, per The Epoch Times.
To most Americans, Biden’s call for phasing-out oil and gas as primary energy sources within a decade may seem like a fleeting news item. However, across the sprawling West Texas sage of the Permian Basin, it reverberates like a deafening thunderclap.
“The messages, virtue signaling, and rhetoric that have come from the federal level lately, tell us oil and gas is evil or not on the side of the average American, or on the side of caring for our environment,” Midland, Texas, Mayor Lori Blong told lawmakers during a Feb. 16 field hearing in her city, which she called “the energy capital of Texas and, arguably, the energy capital of the United States.”
The Permian Basin, which also extends to southeastern New Mexico, accounts for 40 percent of oil and natural gas production in the United States, as well as 7 percent of global output, the outlet continued.
Not only are businesses and people in energy-producing communities such as Midland being unfairly blamed for the alarming U.N. predictions of “catastrophic” climate change, but they are now grappling with the financial and familial hardships brought on by the Biden administration’s hasty green energy policies, and his own statement in January 2023 that oil and gas will only be required for the next 10 years.
Midland’s first female mayor, Blong, is also a founding partner of Octane Energy, an oil and gas exploration and production firm that manages more than 300 wells spanning 35,000 square miles of West Texas and southeastern New Mexico. She says that Biden’s vow to terminate her industry “has made it difficult to access capital” and caused a “reduction in investment” in new well exploration, The Epoch Times notes.
As the administration imposes stricter regulations on pipelines and the “SEC-driven ESG (Environmental Social Governance) movement” drives investors away, the future of the oil and gas industry in West Texas remains uncertain, according to Blong. She argues that this ambiguity is causing “growing market distortions” that need to be remedied.
“These policies prevent individual Americans and American businesses from growing as we otherwise could, prevent us from creating jobs as we otherwise could, and—most importantly—prevents our country from being energy secure as it otherwise could,” she said in her congressional testimony.
During his witness testimony, Adrian Carrasco, Chair of the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and President of Premier Energy Services in Midland, stated that the city’s 6,200 businesses have lost confidence in their future, which has put a strain on families and community organizations.
And Steven Pruett, Board Chair of the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) and President/CEO of Elevation Resources in Midland, also expressed that local oil and gas producers can no longer rely on banks to obtain necessary loans, The Epoch Times noted.
“It’s a whole new game” under the current administration, Pruett said in his witness testimony. He went on to say that just two to three years ago, there were 20 capital equity groups investing in fossil fuel companies, but there are only “five or six” now “that can raise capital.”
“My peers and I know we have to survive on our own cash flow,” he said, saying that investment in new wells is less than half what it was when Donald Trump left office.
Americans may have a zest for ‘zero-emission’ electric vehicles, but a) they are not efficient to manufacture; and b) they run on the same electricity generated by fossil fuels. And yet, somehow, our world continues to survive.
This regime wants America to fail. That should be obvious just due to Biden’s war on gas and oil.
