Another UN speech attacking the US, from Obama

The United Nations has always been a forum for speeches by American-hating nations. This year one of those berating America was the President of the United States. Yet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has only good things to say about “the United States of America, the most powerful and the most generous nation on earth.”

Under the guise of “investing in our people” our President went on and on, blaming “soulless” capitalism for the world’s problems and Americans’ efforts to stop voter fraud and establish voter integrity as being “a patchwork of laws that makes it harder to vote.”

At a time when radical Islamist terrorism continues to kill innocent Americans domestically, and ISIS regime of brutality and terror is spread over large sectors of the Middle East, Mr. Obama presented it as simply a problem of “endangering open societies:

“Across vast swaths of the Middle East, basic security, basic order has broken down. We see too many governments muzzling journalists, and quashing dissent, and censoring the flow of information. Terrorist networks use social media to prey upon the minds of our youth, endangering open societies and spurring anger against innocent immigrants and Muslims.”

Contrast that with what President George W. Bush said in his final address to the United Nations:

“We must see the terrorists for what they are: ruthless extremists who exploit the desperate, subvert the tenets of a great religion, and seek to impose their will on as many people as possible. Some suggest that these men would pose less of a threat if we’d only leave them alone. Yet their leaders make clear that no concession could ever satisfy their ambitions. Bringing the terrorists to justice does not create terrorism—it’s the best way to protect our people.”

Mr. Obama also used his speech as an opportunity to push for unrestricted immigration—immigration that includes not just women and children seeking asylum but also those immigrants with minds infected by Sharia law Islam who refuse to adapt to other cultures. This approach to immigration has gotten out of control in Europe, where we’ve seen gangs going on rampages raping women and rioting. Yet Obama described opposition to such rampant and ill-conceived immigration this way:

“And in Europe and the United States, you see people wrestle with concerns about immigration and changing demographics, and suggesting that somehow people who look different are corrupting the character of our countries.”

Always trying to understate the violence of radical Islam, he also fails to see that token military action against ISIS will not end the threat that they are to world peace and safety.

While he does refer to “the mindless, medieval menace of ISIL” and the need for “being united and relentless in destroying networks like ISIL,” he says nothing about the need to destroy ISIS with “united and relentless” military action.

Then he goes on to say “Israel recognizes that it cannot permanently occupy and settle Palestinian land.” This leaves us wondering just which land he thinks is Palestinian land. Does he agree with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas that Palestinians have some kind of right to destroy Israel?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also spoke at the UN last Thursday, had quite a different and much more accurate perspective on the conflict:
