There are few topics that are more polarizing in American society today than that of the Second Amendment and gun reform.
Both sides of the issue feel extremely strongly about it, which has resulted in an endless amount of bickering back and forth. Instead of having a reasonable, factually based discussion about firearms, emotions trump statistics and logic and those debating get nowhere. It’s important, however, that we don’t back down to those that are trying to pass absurd regulations on firearms. For the safety of ourselves and our country, we must not give in.
Recently, free Americans in Massachusetts were outraged when state Attorney General Maura Healey issued a directive that expanded the state’s ban on “assault weapons” — a nonsensical liberal term that is used to try and brainwash people into fearing guns.
According to Breitbart, “Healey’s directive means the ban on firearms with certain cosmetic features — ‘flash suppressors and folding or telescoping stocks’ — also includes those that lack such features.” Once again, those who seem to know virtually nothing about firearms are the ones trying desperately to regulate them.
Many of the Massachusetts lawmakers believed that Healey was grossly overstepping her boundaries by essentially making a new law, and came together to issue a letter pointing out their issues with the Attorney General’s poor move.
All 40 Republicans signed the letter, as well as 18 Democrats. For the first time in what seems like a long time, bipartisan leaders came together to fight for the greater good.
Unfortunately, Maura Healey is not a lone wolf in the fight for gun regulation. She is one of many leftists who will stop at nothing to prevent law-abiding American citizens from having to deal with unconstitutional regulations on firearms. It’s important to loudly voice your opinions regarding the Second Amendment. It needs to be known among the politicians that the American people will not stand for these frequent infringements of our rights.
