Whoever You Fear is Who You Will Serve
“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matt: 10:28 (KJV)
Reasonable people would not argue the fact that, for most of us, there are a few, very powerful emotions that shape our behavior on a daily basis; which, by default, are instrumental in shaping our overall lives. Of those emotions, two of the most powerful are love and fear. Although we move through a variety of emotions on any given day, love and fear seem to be the bookends at either end of the scale.
Of course, emotions in themselves are not bad. In fact, they are a necessary part of our existence; and, unless you are a sociopath, undoubtedly responsible for many of the decisions that we make each day. Why is any of this important? Because love and fear are not only powerful emotions, they are, in my opinion, the exact emotions that determine who, or what, you serve; for whether you believe it or not, we all serve something or someone.
Since the dawn of time, our spiritual enemy has been trying to separate God’s people from their Creator. And, in large part, the plan has been successful. America, for most of its existence, has been a staunch hold-out; but, sadly, the evil deeds men perpetrate are now consuming even this nation, as it has the rest of the world. Any sane person would look at the state of things and wonder what happened to make things so crazy. How did things get so bad? Because we, individually and collectively, have allowed those who currently run this planet to trick us into misplacing our fear; while directing our power towards things of this world.
The Bible states that the real battle is not waged in the flesh, or against something seen; but that the real battle is spiritual, or against a force that is unseen (Eph. 6:12). We are conditioned to fear ISIS, bank-runs, financial collapse, EMPs, terrorism, biological weapons and you get the idea; all the while being conditioned to ignore the clear warnings given in the Bible about fearing God and keeping His Commandments (Ecc. 12:13). Again, why does this matter? Because in the upcoming battles between the forces of good and evil, only spiritual weapons will make a difference, and they’re not manufactured by Smith and Wesson.
With all respects to my gun-loving brethren (of which I am one), your firearms will be of no use for victory in the upcoming battles; as I stated earlier, the battles are spiritual and not carnal. No, your only chance to defeat the enemy will be with God’s help. Scoff if you wish, but it is truly our only hope. Who does God help, you may ask? He helps those who FEAR HIM first, then keep His Commandments. So, the choice is up to you. When the battle ensues, what weapons do you want to have at your disposal?
As the saying goes, don’t be the one who shows up at a gunfight with only a knife; or, in this case, don’t show up to a spiritual battle with weapons of this world. One way or another, there will be numerous difficulties ahead. Arm yourself now, for time is short and the battle is imminent.
